Schlepping around Petra
In order to beat the crowds we leave our hotel at 7am(0700 ie. 7 in the morning)and make our way down to the Treasury building
and then ascend the 800 steps up to the Monastery;
in order for such exertion to be worth it, it needed to be seriously good and we were not disappointed.
We hung around here for some time
and then made our way down again, laughing at the hordes of sweaty eurotrash making their way up in the searing heat.
We stopped past various royal tombs
en route back to the safety of our hotel, a cumulative distance of over 14km.
I try to sleep this afternoon but am constantly woken by the jack hammer next to our room.
We have drinkies(tea) on the roof of the hotel and watch the sunset and then it is time for dinner.
