Then we hop on our bus to see the big ticket items at Giza. Disembussing we are surrounded by hordes of Eurotrash, various random Asian tour groups and  locals flogging the biggest load of crap you have ever seen.
The great Pyramid of Cheops(aka Khufu) turns out to be quite stunning and well worth seeing.

Having seen documentaries we explain to the rest of the group how the pharaohs used helicopters and planes to move the large stones into place-this is also news to our guide who seems to be woefully uninformed about these facts of Egyptian history.

In the afternoon we visit the Egyptian Museum which is full of a whole lot of really old shit including the remnants of the tomb of Rootin Tootin Karmin.










 We are then embussed to the railway station and enjoy a 3 hour wait for our "luxury" sleeper train to Luxor. You've never seen such a shifty bunch of people here, and that's just our tour group!







Dinner onboard is "adequate" but we do enjoy a drug induced sleep until being rudely awoken at 0430!

We walk to Waitrose to pick up a few delicacies for our lunch but they do not open until late in the day so we take a perambulation along the banks of the River Wey and observe all the little poms having a nice time. Eric, Claire and Suzannah join us for a carbonara(7/10-for some reason we discover lentils inside the pepper grinder, is this some demented English thing?) and then we wander off for further delights of the English countryside.

Don't make any Jerash decisions

We get driven with our group Our tour group to the Roman city of Jerash which is now really the Jordanian city of Jerash. This was actually a very cool place with lots of pillars and shit. There was even an ancient Jordanian bagpipe player. Bloody tourists ruining my shot In the evening we had our group farewell dinner with our loyal Bedouin guide Feras and his wife and daughter. Today we have a free day in Amman, so I am the tour guide on our self guided walk. Firstly we visit the Citadel where there is a whole lot of old stuff-the deeper you dig the older it is , (until you hit China when it starts getting newer again). We then get verbally assaulted by some freaky school kids who end up trying to stone us(for being infidels?). We wander around the local bizarre The boss's new outfit and end up at our favourite falafel joint.
